Many residents in Kitchener-Waterloo have workplace extended health insurance plans that cover hundreds—or even thousands—of dollars per year in paramedical wellness services, yet a large percentage of those benefits go unused before the annual policy reset. Understanding how your coverage works makes it easy to turn reactive pain relief into year-round preventive care.
Which Services at Wan D Are Covered by Extended Health Insurance?
Most Ontario extended health benefit plans provide separate annual coverage pools for each regulated or recognized discipline at our clinic:
- Registered Massage Therapy (RMT): All treatments performed by our CMTO-registered RMTs—including Traditional Thai Massage (RMT), Deep Tissue, Swedish, Pregnancy Massage, and Thai Foot Reflexology (RMT)—come with an official RMT receipt containing the practitioner’s registration number.
- Registered Physiotherapy: Assessments and follow-up treatments with our Registered Physiotherapist are eligible under your Physiotherapy benefit pool.
- Manual Osteopathy: Treatments with our OSTCAN and CMMOTA registered Osteopathic Practitioners are eligible under Osteopathy coverage on most major insurance plans.
- Registered Acupuncture: Sessions with our CTCMPAO-registered Acupuncturists are eligible under your Acupuncture benefit pool.
Note: Treatments performed by a Non-RMT Thai Massage Practitioner are offered at a special relaxation rate ($88 for 60 minutes) and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
Simple Claims Process
At Wan D Thai Massage & Wellness, we provide a detailed official invoice and receipt immediately after your session so you can submit it directly through your insurer’s mobile app (such as Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, GreenShield, or Blue Cross) for fast direct-deposit reimbursement.
